According to the China Satellite Navigation System Administration Office, the BeiDou Navigation Satellite System (BDS) will undergo an upcoming in-orbit upgrade. This includes the gradual decommissioning of BDS-2 satellites and PRN reassignment of BDS-3 satellites.
ComNav Technology Ltd. has completed a comprehensive technical assessment across its product portfolio, including multi-scenario simulations. The results confirm that ComNav products will continue to deliver stable and reliable performance under normal operating conditions. In highly challenging environments, users may experience minor and temporary performance fluctuations.
This upgrade will primarily affect the BDS-2 service region covering China and its surrounding areas, while the impact on other regions is expected to be minimal.
To ensure optimal performance, we recommend that users review their specific application scenarios and assess whether a firmware update is required.
