Qtalis SyncFrame: Seamless RTK and PPP Switching

Qtalis SyncFrame: Seamless RTK and PPP Switching

· ⏱ 2 min read · 👁 views

Qtalis is excited to announce that with the latest K8 series firmware (V620F1 and above), PPP functionality is now standard across our GNSS modules, receivers, and related solutions. This upgrade allows seamless switching between RTK and PPP, giving users the flexibility to maintain accurate positioning in diverse environments.

The new firmware supports single correction PPP and also introduces SyncFrame Technology, which fuses RTK and PPP frameworks in real-time. This ensures users can effortlessly switch between RTK and PPP without worrying about coordinate inconsistencies.

How SyncFrame Technology Works

RTK usually relies on a local reference frame, while PPP uses global reference systems like ITRF, which can lead to small coordinate differences. SyncFrame Technology dynamically calculates and corrects these deviations in real-time.

When switching from RTK to PPP:

  • The system automatically calibrates coordinates
  • PPP outputs align with RTK coordinates
  • Continuous operation is maintained even if RTK signals drop, cellular networks are weak, or radio coverage is limited

Key Features

  • Framework Fusion: Real-time alignment of RTK and PPP coordinates ensures consistent results.
  • Diverse PPP Services: Supports multiple global PPP services, including BeiDou PPP-B2b and Galileo PPP-HAS. Differential data from GPS, BDS, and GAL systems are merged to enhance reliability.
  • Global Coverage: Galileo PPP-HAS covers the entire globe; PPP-B2b serves China and surrounding regions.
  • High Accuracy: Tested worldwide, PPP-HAS achieves 20cm horizontal accuracy (95%), PPP-B2b achieves 10cm (95%) in its service area.
  • Free Services: Both PPP-HAS and PPP-B2b are provided free of charge.
  • User-Friendly: Real-time framework conversion occurs automatically—no user intervention required.

Applications

Industries that benefit include:

  • Surveying and Mapping: PPP allows positioning in remote areas without setting up base stations.
  • Precision Agriculture: SyncFrame ensures machinery continues operation even if RTK signals are temporarily lost.
  • Drones & Robotics: Seamless transitions maintain accurate navigation for autonomous systems.
