My rover has good sky view and plenty of satellites, but the fix is terrible. How can I tell if my base station is the problem?
Poor base station performance often manifests as frequent RTK drops, high latency, or rover instability. To evaluate:
- Monitor the base station's satellite tracking - is it seeing enough satellites with good SNR?
- Check the correction stream - are clients receiving data consistently, or are there gaps?
- Perform a swap test by temporarily replacing the base station with a known good unit. If the issue goes away, your original base is the problem.
Hopefully this information can help you identify the issue.
Thanks, that's helpful. Could you please provide more details on how to actually perform each step?
